The Salkantay tour begins in Mollepata site and this depends on the days of tours that you take, then it goes to Soraypampa in the first day, at this point we are close to the sacred mountains of the Incas and of course of the Salkantay Mountain, after this point we reached Salkantaypampa, here we can see the mountains and you feel the cold, and when we got to Salkantay Pass the height that this has is about 4400 m, continuing this route we will reach Ichupata, Waynawmachay, Manchaymayo, Qollpapampa and other places that are great along this route, before to reach Aguas Calientes we will be in Santa Teresa and especially in Colcamayo where are crystalline thermal springs, and we can also get in Aguas Calientes too, before climbing to the wonderful citadel of Machu Picchu.

Also this trek map show you the inca trail route and others routes turists take to go to Aguas Calientes, but as you see the two main routes are salkantay and inca trail and the inca trail is sold out very fast, but salkantay is not sold out because doesnt have any permision to get in.
